VOICECRAFT® FOR THE CHOIR
(3 days)

Voicecraft® for the Choir teaches the skills the choir needs to enhance whatever type of music under consideration.   This results in greater clarity and strength and stamina of the voices and more consistency from performance to performance and from member to member.  The choir is audio-recorded at the start and at the end of the workshop.   During the workshop, the choir is taught the necessary skills to realise the potential of the music, be it a patter song, a hymn, a love song, something contemporary, or something from the archives!  Many choirs are singing items from the shows or gospel music and the vocal requirements vary.  Gospel and rock need "Belting", hymns and oratorio require smooth lyrical singing (Sob Quality) and a ballad, something which enhances diction, (Speech Quality).  The workshop is designed around the choir's preference, teaching them the necessary acoustic shaping of the vocal tract, so that in unison, they make the same choice at the same time and understand why they are setting up that particular configuration of the larynx and vocal tract.
